To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether resource budget will be allocated in (i) 2020/21; and (ii) 2021/21 to staff an active travel centre at the North West Transport Hub.

Answer:

The provision and operation of an Active Travel Centre is a vital component of the North West Transport Hub project. It is expected that it will become an exemplar of best practice; providing a focal point for the encouragement and promotion of sustainable travel.

In March 2020, my Department submitted an application to SEUPB for funding for three years for the operation of an Active Travel Centre at the North West Transport Hub and I await the outcome of this application.
