Question:
To ask the Minister of Justice for an update on her focused review of the support mechanisms and procedures the Prison Service has in place to ascertain if more could be done to help the wellbeing of frontline staff, due to report on October 31.

Answer:

I commissioned the review of support services for frontline prison staff and the report was due at the end of October.

Following a request from the Review Team, I granted an extension to mid-December. I have now received a copy of the report and am considering the recommendations.
