Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether the Driver and Vehicle Agency plans to move towards full acceptance of credit and debit card payments, removing cheques or postal orders as methods of payment.

Answer:
The Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) offers a range of online and telephony services that require credit and debit card payments. However, there remains a few services that can only be paid for by cheque or postal order.
The DVA is currently developing plans to further enhance and improve its digital services to better meet the needs of its customers with a view to phasing out cheques and postal orders as methods of payment in favour of electronic payment options. This is being taken forward as part of an ongoing programme of work, subject to the necessary resources and funding being available.
