Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy what support she will make available for hotels which, for business reasons, were closed on 16 October 2020.

Answer:
I understand that the question specifically refers to hotels which remained closed from 16 October even though they had the option to open; the most obvious example being chains of hotels which opted only to open some hotels in the chain knowing that it would not be viable to open all of them.
Where a hotel in these circumstances has a Net Annual Value above £51k, then it will be eligible for the Large Tourism and Hospitality Business Support Scheme, assuming that it qualifies for support from the Localised Restrictions Support Scheme. Whereas a hotel in these circumstances with a NAV between £15,001 and £51,000 will have been eligible for the £25k Business Support Grant Scheme in the early spring/summer 2020 lockdown and will continue to be eligible for LRSS during current lockdown period from the autumn 2020 through to spring 2021 lockdown.
