Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs for an update on when payments from the scheme to support commercial fishermen in the Lough Neagh fishing industry will be released.

Answer:

I fully recognise the pressures faced by the Lough Neagh fishing industry as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In my new role as the AERA Minister, I am familiarising myself with aspects of the proposed Scheme and once I am satisfied with the details of how the Scheme can be administered, I will be in a position to make a further announcement.
