Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail planned growth funding, broken down by (i) type of school; (ii) amount received; and (iii) the number of additional pupils per development plan, per year since April 2016, including awards made to date in 2020/21.

Answer:
The table below provides details of the amount of in-year growth funding provided to schools that have approved development proposals (DPs), broken down by (i) type of school; (ii) amount received; and (iii) the number of additional pupils funded, from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2020.
Funding for the 2020-21 financial year will be determined by the Education Authority, as funding authority for grant aided schools, following validation of the October 2020 Census, in line with the normal funding arrangements. This has still to be completed.
The number of additional pupils enrolled as part of an approved DP will not always be the same as the approved enrolment set out in a given DP. Therefore, in effort to answer your question, the number of pupils attracting in-year growth funding in all schools (by school type) with approved DPs has been provided.
