Question:
To ask the Minister of Health, pursuant to AQW 11948/17-22, when he intends to begin collating the number of people awaiting drug and alcohol treatment in each Health and Social Care Trust.

Answer:

The HSCB have advised that information on the number of people awaiting alcohol and drug treatment in each Health and Social Care Trust is not collated centrally at this time, and can only be obtained using a manual trawl through hundreds of files and could therefore only be supplied at disproportionate cost.

The collation of data and the use of such data will, however, be considered as part of activity which supports the implementation of the forthcoming Substance Use Strategy ‘Making Life Better – Preventing Harm & Empowering Recovery’
