To ask the Minister of Health what engagement occurs with the Interim Mental Health Champion for Northern Ireland concerning public announcements with regards to COVID-19 Public Health Restrictions.

Answer:

Announcements in relation to COVID-19 Public Health Restrictions are the responsibility of my Department and the wider Northern Ireland Executive. While the Mental Health Champion does not have a formal role in that process, she has provided advice on the Executive’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan and I am committed to working with her on an ongoing basis to help improve the mental health of everyone throughout all aspects of life, including in our response to the pandemic.
