Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy what engagement she has had with the Chancellor of the Exchequer in regards to the need for an extension to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme past the current end date of 30 April 2021.

Answer:

Whilst the Department for Finance leads on engagement with Treasury, I wrote to the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 26 February 2021 in regards to the need for an extension to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme past the current end date of 30 April 2021.

I also wrote to him on the same subject last summer, requesting an extension to a previous deadline.
