Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail the support being offered to podiatrists in private practice, given their essential role in helping address waiting lists.

Answer:
The Department of Health does not have policy responsibilities for podiatrists in private practice and as such does not hold a budget to support them.
Previously the independent sector have been referred to the Department of Economy in relation to assistance with business rates and possible business grants.
Independent practitioners may also respond to the HSC Workforce appeal which is open to a range of disciplines including podiatry should they wish to apply.
