To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 13558 /17-22, whether her Department will be reopening the priority booking service for key workers to avail of early appointments.

Answer:

My answer to AQW 13558/17-22 confirmed that the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) is actively liaising with the Department of Health, to consider the facilitation of priority requests if they are identified by employers, from key workers whose jobs are ancillary to medical, health or social care services and who are required to drive for the purposes of their work. It will be for the relevant employers to contact the Agency directly to identify their staff that fall with this priority group and the DVA will then endeavour to facilitate priority appointments for both theory and practical driving tests, where possible.
