Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure when the criteria for the allocation of funding for capital structural maintenance was last updated.

Answer:

In distributing the resources available for capital structural maintenance, allocations to the four DfI Roads Divisions are made on the basis of need, using a range of weighted indicators tailored to each maintenance activity. Divisions also use a range of indicators when apportioning across District Council areas to ensure, as far as possible, an equitable distribution of funds based on need.

While the broad indicators remain the same year on year, information included in the allocation process is updated each year to reflect changes to the network and surface condition.
