Question:
To ask the Minister of Health whether he is considering the establishment of Rapid Diagnostic Centres, similar to those being rolled out as part of the NHS Long Term Plan in England.

Answer:

Rapid Diagnostic Centres have been considered as part of work on the forthcoming Cancer Strategy. There is a high level of clinical support for the development of Rapid Diagnostic Centres as a means of increasing diagnostic capacity. Implementation of Rapid Diagnostic Centres will require additional investment in the staff and infrastructure required to deliver them.
