Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail his plans for enabling patients in Northern Ireland to access the Duchenne muscular dystrophy drug Translarna on the NHS, in line with England.

Answer:
Highly specialised technologies recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) are available to all suitable patients in Northern Ireland within the parameters set by NICE.
Ataluren (Translarna) for treating Duchenne muscular dystrophy (HST3) was recommended for use by NICE in July 2016.
