Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on progress to confirm the route for the Belfast Rapid Transit (Glider) Phase 2.

Answer:

The Belfast Rapid Transit 2 (BRT2) project is one of three infrastructure projects being taken forward by my Department within the Belfast Region City Deal. An interim Outline Business Case was provided to City Deal partners in August 2020 to enable partners to determine which projects will go through to the final Deal.

In the interim, development work on the BRT2 project has been continuing and an options assessment report to identify the most viable route options has been prepared. A public and stakeholder consultation on these route options is planned to establish a preferred route for which an Outline Business Case can be completed.
