To ask the Minister of Health to outline the current and planned policies to promote positive health within health services generally, other than mental health services.

Answer:

The ethos of my Department is to promote positive health and all policies are reflective of this. Specifically, Making Life Better (MLB) is our ten year public health strategic framework provides direction for policies and actions to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Northern Ireland. The framework focusses on the broad range of social, economic and environmental factors which influence health and wellbeing. It brings together actions at government level and provides direction for implementation at regional and local level, including actions to improve health and work.
