To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether she will bring forward legislative or policy proposals to allow pedestrian zebra crossings to be painted in the colours of the rainbow flag.

Answer:

My Department is content that certain pedestrian crossings can be painted in the colours of the rainbow, indeed I welcomed the recent announcement in Derry. While this is not permitted on zebra crossings, as their layout is prescribed in legislation, there are an abundance of other locations and therefore no new legislative or policy proposals are required.
