Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail which of the 100 20mph speed limit zones outside of schools announced on 7 September 2020 are now operational.
Answer:
I was delighted to have been able to commit funding from the 2020/2021 capital budget toward the introduction of part-time 20 mph speed limits at 103 schools. These measures increase driver awareness and achieve reductions in vehicle speeds outside and near these schools ensuring that parents, children and staff will be safer as they go to and from the schools on a daily basis. The construction work has been completed and the signs commissioned at the 49 schools listed below with the remainder of the sites programmed for completion by mid-summer 2021: Western Division Florencecourt Primary School Gillygooley Primary School St Mary's Primary School Mullymesker St Patricks Primary School Omagh Christ the King Primary School Omagh High Omagh Primary School Orritor Primary School Crossroads Primary School Ampertain Primary School St Bridgids Primary School St Treas Primary School St Eoughan's Primary School Southern Division Banbridge Academy Edenderry Primary School St Mary's Primary School, Dunsford Abbey Primary School Loughries Primary School St Patricks PS Ballygalget Killyleagh Integrated Primary School St Joseph's Primary School, Crossgar St Mary's Primary School, Aughlisnafin St Patrick's Primary School, Legamaddy Eastern Division Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School Ben Madigan Preparatory School Ballysillan Primary School Dominican College Northern Division Edmund Rice College The Diamond Primary School St. Paul's Primary School Ahoghill Upper Ballyboley Primary School Islandmagee Primary School, Senior Campus Millquarter Primary School Carrick Grammar Carrick Academy Moneynick Primary School Ballymena Academy Duneane Primary School Moorfields Primary School Groggan Primary School Carnalridge Primary School Eden Primary School Drumrane Primary School Ballytober Primary School Bushvalley Primary School St Canice Primary School St Matthew’s Primary School St Patrick's & St Joseph's Primary School Garryduff Primary School
