Question:
To ask the Minister of Health what support his Department provides to community organisations supporting and providing services to transgender and gender-diverse young people and their families.

Answer:
My Department does not provide direct support to any such community organisations, although it provides funding to a range of organisations of whose services and support transgender people can avail.
My Department works alongside transgender people with representatives of voluntary and community sector organisations on the Gender Identity Pathway Review Group, which established a Gender Identity Liaison Panel to facilitate the co-production of services.
The Health and Social Care Board is taking forward a review of the gender identity service pathway at the request of my Department and a report including recommendations will be submitted to my Department for consideration in autumn 2021. It is anticipated that the valuable role played by the voluntary and community sector will become an integral part of the commissioned care pathway.
