Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to outline the reasoning behind differential advice for people self-isolating at home from those in hotel quarantine, in the event that symptoms develop during the period of self-isolation.

Answer:
If a person tests positive regardless of where they are - hotel or at home - there is a re-start on the 10 day isolation period. Officials have aligned the guidance on NI Direct in accordance with The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021, for red and amber arrivals who develop symptoms during the period of self-isolation.
