Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether her Department (i) signed off the application and allocation process used by Sport NI to allocate the Sports Sustainability Fund; and (ii) agreed to permit previous years’ operating profits as part of the permitted losses.

Answer:

The business case for the Sports Sustainability Fund provided authority for Sport NI to develop and administer the grant scheme, with the procedures to be in line with Sport NI grant guidance.

The scheme determined COVID related net losses by comparing the COVID affected period of April 2020 to March 2021, against an average of an organisations last three years audited or approved accounts.
