Question: To ask the Minister of Health to detail (i) the number of appointments provided by GPs per Health and Social Care Trust area, in each of the past five years; and (ii) the number of people in each trust area.
Answer:
As independent contractors, GP practices are responsible for managing their own appointment systems and waiting times. As such, information on the number of appointments provided by GPs is not available. The number of registered patients in each LCG area is shown in the table overleaf. Table 1: The number of registered patients in each LCG1 area, at April 2021. LCG1 | Registered patients | Belfast | 438,485 | Northern | 476,015 | South Eastern | 334,241 | Southern | 425,826 | Western | 332,370 | Northern Ireland | 2,006,937 |
