Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to detail his Department’s planned capital investment for agriculture in Northern Ireland.

Answer:

I am considering capital support as part of the ongoing development of the Future Agricultural Policy Framework for Northern Ireland, to help deliver the key desired outcomes which are increased productivity; improved resilience; an industry that is environmentally sustainable; and improved supply chain functionality.

A Budget exercise will take place later this year to set capital allocations for all departments for 2022-23 and potentially two years after that subject to confirmation from Treasury. Funding to take forward DAERA's capital investment for agriculture will be firmed up as part of that exercise.
