To ask the Minister of Health what steps are being taken to make Kaftrio available in Northern Ireland for the treatment of cystic fibrosis.

Answer:

Kaftrio is currently available in Northern Ireland for the treatment of cystic fibrosis. On 30 July 2020 I announced an agreement with Vertex Pharmaceuticals that would make Kaftrio available in Northern Ireland for clinically suitable patients, this gives access to Kaftrio to people with Cystic Fibrosis aged 12 and over.
