Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether she plans to hold an investigation into the actions of the Education Authority in not securing land at the former Castle Gardens Primary School site, Newtownards, resulting in the erection of an illegal and unsafe bonfire during the months of May, June and July 2021.

Answer:

The gate of the site was secured with a new lock following the bonfire last year. The bonfire builders broke this lock and entered the site without the EA’s permission or knowledge at some point in the preceding weeks. I do not feel that any further investigation is required at this time.
