Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether her Department is using counters to track usage of pop-up cycle lanes.

Answer:

The design of the pilot pop-up cycle lanes, installed during the first lockdown in 2020, did not include at that point the installation of cycle counters. A review is currently being carried out on a number of these pop-up cycle lanes. The outcome of this will determine the effectiveness of the lanes, lessons learnt and how additional cycling infrastructure can be rolled out in the future, including how we track usage.
