To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs what advice his Department has issued in relation to puppy trafficking.

Answer:

My Department’s website provides advice to the public on how to identify and report illegal dog breeding or trafficking activity. Messages on responsible purchasing are also frequently promoted by my Department on social media platforms as part of the multi-agency ‘Paws for Thought’ initiative. The initiative is a public awareness campaign which aims to highlight the issue of puppy trafficking and encourage the public to report any suspicions regarding the illegal movements of dogs and puppies.
