Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on her legislative agenda for the remainder of the current Assembly mandate.

Answer:

I have outlined below the legislative agenda I wish to progress for the remainder of the current Assembly mandate:

Executive Bills

My Department currently has no Executive Bills in the Assembly, and no proposals to introduce Executive Bills during this mandate.

Westminster Bills requiring a Legislative Consent Motion (LCM)

My Department currently has no Westminster Bills requiring an LCM in the Assembly at present, and no proposals to introduce any during this mandate.

Statutory Rules Subject to approval in draft or Affirmative Resolution by the Assembly

My Department is proposing The Grants to Water and Sewerage Undertakers Order (Northern Ireland) 2022 to be put forward to the Executive in autumn 2021. This aims to facilitate the subsidy payment to NI Water, in lieu of domestic water charging, to be extended beyond 31st March 2022. It is hoped this will come into operation on 1st April 2022.

Given the short remaining period of this mandate, I also intend to initiate consultations and calls for evidence on issues that can then be progressed via new legislation in the next mandate.
