Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether any legislative changes have been introduced since June 2018 to enable NI Water to impose measures to conserve water supply.

Answer:
There have been no legislative changes made to enable NI Water to impose measures to conserve water supply beyond the existing hosepipe ban. However, a Drought Direction, as described by the Water and Sewerage Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 Article 138(1)(b), has been put in place to allow NI Water to ask for permission from the Department to prohibit or limit the use of water during periods of drought.
