To ask the Minister of Education to outline the rules for parents who wish to keep their children off school as a preventative measure from COVID-19.

Answer:

In keeping with the most recent guidance issued to schools on 23 August 2021 via DE Circular 2021/16, a parent who decides to keep their child at home against the advice of the school or public health advice at the time should expect the absence to be recorded as unauthorised.
