To ask the Minister of Education pursuant to AQW 21821/17-22, to provide details of the number of projects.

Answer:

In my response to AQW 21821/17-22 I set out the four phases of the Development Proposal (DP) process. My Department is engaged in this process at phase four, when a DP is published. Prior to that point, my Department has no involvement in the managing authority and sectoral body representatives’ considerations regarding the planning of provision.

The pre-publication page of the Education Authority’s (EA) website - https://www.eani.org.uk/school-management/area-planning/pre-publication-consultations - remains the appropriate source of information on existing planning considerations. There may, however, be other workstreams under consideration that have not formally progressed to this point. As I have indicated that my Department is only engaged at the publication phase, I do not have details of the number of projects that are in train at any point of time.
