Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail any discussions he has had with members of the hospitality sector regarding the practicalities of a potential COVID-19 passport scheme for the sector.

Answer:

As Minister for the Economy, I publicly stated my concerns about the introduction of a COVID status certification scheme. From my engagement with representatives of the tourism and hospitality industries, including Hospitality Ulster and the Northern Ireland Hotel Federation, I knew that they also had concerns and I have assured them that I will continue to engage with them and represent their views to my Executive colleagues.
