Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether a Rural Needs Impact Assessment was conducted as part of PPS 21 Planning Advice Note issued in August 2021.

Answer:

The Planning Advice Note (PAN) ‘Implementation of Strategic Planning Policy for the Development of the Countryside’ issued by my Department on 2 August 2021, was not subject to a Rural Needs Impact Assessment (as required by the Rural Needs Act 2016) as it does not add to or change existing policy.
