Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether there is an opportunity to extend the Glider route beyond the route proposed in the Belfast Rapid Transit Phase 2 consultation.

Answer:

I was pleased to launch a 10 week public consultation on 26th July for a proposed north- south Belfast Rapid Transit network extension. The routes identified in the public consultation are based on analysis carried out by specialist transport consultants and represent the current most viable options to build on the success of the Glider service.

At this stage no decisions regarding a preferred route have been taken and all feedback received from the public consultation, including suggested extensions, will be carefully considered. In light of these considerations a public consultation report will be produced detailing feedback received, responses to that feedback and confirmation of the preferred routes.

The closing date for consultation responses is today.
