Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on the progress of the Ballynahinch bypass.

Answer:

On 19 April 2021, I announced my intention to make a ‘Direction Order’ for the Ballynahinch Bypass. The Direction Order for the scheme has been made which completes the statutory processes for the scheme. In line with my commitment to deliver the scheme as part of my plan to aid economic recovery, community transformation and address regional imbalance, officials continue to work to progress this scheme. Progression to procurement and construction will be dependent upon the level of funding made available to my Department in Spending Review 2021.
