Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any plans she has to review the Housing Executive points system.

Answer:
My Department is working with the Housing Executive to enable the implementation of 18 of the 20 proposals contained in the Consultation Outcome Report which set out the findings of the 2017 consultation “A Fundamentsal Review of Social Housing Allocations”. Further work will be carried out and alternatives considered for two proposals relating to intimidation points and interim accommodation points, prior to their implementation.
The Housing Executive has now established a project team, which has commenced the planning stage for implementation and delivery of these proposals that will make the Housing Selection Scheme fairer and better at responding to objective need.
The intention is for implementation of a number of proposals to be underway by March 2022.
