Question:
To ask the Minister of Health what steps he is taking to prepare for winter pressures on the Health Service.


Answer:
The health and social care (HSC) system is most likely facing into the most difficult winter ever experienced.
On 22 October 2021, I laid a written statement in the Assembly setting out my approach to winter planning, including a variety of regional measures. I also published integrated Trust winter and surge delivery plans. These delivery plans set out in much detail the winter planning at individual Trust level.
