Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities what intervention programmes are in place to help build resilience, coping mechanisms and life skills for young people; and where these programmes are located.

Answer:

Through its Neighbourhood Renewal programme, which operates in the 36 most deprived urban areas, my Department supports a range of programmes that seek to improve educational attainment and enhance life opportunities for children and young people in a number of these areas. This includes investment in projects in some such areas that provide services to address health and wellbeing including promotion of good mental health and suicide/self-harm awareness.
