Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether she intends to match the uplift for tennis facilities in England announced by the UK Government with a similar pro rate uplift in Northern Ireland, given the benefits of youth participation in sport.

Answer:

My officials have been in contact with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to find out more detail about the funding announcement, how it will be allocated and the timescales involved. A response from DCMS is currently awaited but I can confirm that they do not expect any funding to be allocated in this financial year.

In the meantime, my officials have arranged to meet with Ulster Tennis to discuss existing plans for tennis infrastructure here.
