Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to outline the timescale for the adoption of National Institute of Clinical Excellence guidance for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.

Answer:

NICE Clinical Guideline NG206 on the diagnosis and management of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (or encephalopathy) / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome published on 29 October 2021.

In accordance with the process set out in circular HSC (SQSD) 3/13, my Department has now begun the process of formally endorsing the NICE guidance for implementation in Northern Ireland.
