Question: To ask the Minister of Health (i) whether the COVID Cert App can be used to (a) prove recovery from a positive PCR rest in the previous 30-180 days; and (b) prove a negative Lateral Flow Test in the previous 48 hours; and (ii) to outline the process for submitting this information to be used with the App.
Answer:
My Department has been working to make “Recovery Certificates” available, (through the CovidCertNI app) to Northern Ireland citizens who received a positive PCR test in the preceding 30 to 180 days. They will be valid for a period of 180 days, calculated from the day after a positive PCR test. An updated version of the COVIDCert App including the digital Recovery Certificates is due to be released in the week 6th to 12th December, subject to Quality Assurance testing and Google & Apple store review. Citizens can register in advance for an NI Direct account, thus completing the required identity checks in advance of the release of the updated app. It will not be possible to include LFT results in the COVIDCert NI app. The information on a positive PCR result and subsequent recovery to be included in the COVIDCert app will be automatically obtained from HSC systems
