To ask the Minister for Communities whether the Superstrike Ltd v Marino Rodrigues Tenancy Deposit Schemes case applies to Northern Ireland; and how this case impacts the Private Tenancies Bill.

Answer:

This case applies to English law, and relates to an interpretation of English Private Residential Tenancy legislation.

The Department’s view is that this case has no bearing here and therefore, the case has no impact on the Private Tenancies Bill.
