Question:
To ask the Minister of Health, pursuant to AQW 26078/17-22, for his assessment of the use of two-month-old evidence to determine issues such as the optimum timescale for booster vaccines; and on what date he most recently sought updated evidence.

Answer:
The Member will be aware that on foot of updated JCVI advice dated 29th November issued in response to the emergence of the Omicron variant, dose spacing between second primary dose and booster has reduced to three months.
The JCVI committee, the COVID-19 sub-committee and the COVID-19 monitoring group have continually reviewed the latest evidence on COVID-19 infection and disease in the UK, evidence on vaccine effectiveness, impact and safety from UK and international sources and from clinical trials undertaken by vaccine developers.
