Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to detail the funding bids his Department has made in preparation for the implementation of the Clean Air Strategy.

Answer:

The public consultation on the Clean Air Strategy Discussion Document ran from November 2020 to February 2021. This document did not set out policy options or indicate a particular policy position. Once I have reviewed the findings of this consultation, considered policy options and decided on a policy direction, officials shall engage with other Departments to develop preferred options and policy positions more fully.

As the policy options develop, funding bids to implement the Clean Air Strategy can then be considered by DAERA and other Departments with responsibilities relevant to air quality issues.
