Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail the cost mitigation measures he has considered regarding the steep rise in energy prices for consumers.

Answer:

The Department for Communities has lead responsibility for fuel poverty and any mitigations that may be put in place to assist with rising fuel costs.

My officials continue to work with the Utility Regulator and the Consumer Council to ensure consumers are protected as much as possible through the regulated domestic tariff regime for both electricity and gas in Northern Ireland.
