Question:
To ask the Minister of Health how the allocation of the National Health and Social Care Levy will be distributed in Northern Ireland.

Answer:

The allocation related to the National Health and Social Care Levy will be included within my Departments total budget 2022-25 allocation from the Department of Finance, once this has been agreed by the Executive. The allocation will be used to fund Health and Social Care’s inescapable commitments and prioritised pressures.

While the funding raised by the levy is very welcome, due to the lack of recurrent investment that Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland has received over the last number of years the budget will be needed to simply fund existing services.
