Question:
To ask the Minister of Health (i) whether personnel working within the private and voluntary ambulance sector will receive the £500 recognition payment for independent health and social care workers; (ii) whether his Department has been liaising with this sector in relation to this payment; and (iii) when workers in this sector can expect this payment to be made.

Answer:
Staff within the private/voluntary ambulance sector are not within scope of the Special Recognition Payment. While the contribution of workers such as those in private and community ambulances is much appreciated and valued, it is not possible to extend the scope of the scheme to recognise all such contributions.
