Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities what plans she has to extend the ability for district councils to hold remote council meetings throughout 2022.

Answer:

The Local Government (Meetings and Performance) Act 2021 provides my Department with an enabling power to make subordinate legislation to provide councils with the flexibility to hold remote/hybrid meetings post-March 2022.

The Department plans to issue a Call for Evidence to gather information and views about the use of the current arrangements for councils to meet remotely
