Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance what assurances his Department has received from HM Treasury that £50 million Barnett consequential funding, due to be secured as part of the Non-domestic Rates Valuations (Coronavirus) Bill in Westminster, can be spent in 2022/23.

Answer:
I can confirm the Barnett Consequential for the Westminster Rates funding will now be received in 2021-22 however Treasury has provided no assurances on carry forward to 2022-23 beyond the normal Budget Exchange Scheme mechanism.
The Executive’s 2022-25 Draft Budget does however provide funding in 2022-23 to allow the Executive to carry out its own scheme locally.
