To ask the Minister for the Economy for an update on the Apprenticeship NI HGV pilot scheme.

Answer:

I am unclear on what the Member is referring to.

However, Level 2 Driving Goods Vehicles and Level 3 Driving Goods Vehicles apprenticeship frameworks are already available through the ApprenticeshipsNI programme for eligible applicants.

Both apprenticeship frameworks include knowledge-based and competence-based qualifications in driving a range of goods vehicles including articulated vehicles. Skills that require mandatory training, such as HGV licensing, are not funded or delivered by the Department for the Economy.
